Breakfast with a View

I’m not sure which was more enticing—the food or the sweeping view of Navy Pier. At Miru, tucked inside the stunning St. Regis Chicago, I found myself asking this very question more than once. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the skyline and lake in a way that feels almost unreal, but the dishes arriving at our table were just as captivating.
There’s been plenty of buzz about Miru lately, and now I know why. It’s one of those rare places where the hype feels fully earned. The menu doesn’t just impress—it delights.

We decided to keep things classic but elevated: steak and eggs for a hearty start, and blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes that tasted like a plate of sunshine. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender and rich, paired with eggs that made a simple dish feel indulgent. The pancakes, meanwhile, were fluffy and bright with lemon, dotted with sweet bursts of blueberry and a hint of creamy ricotta that tied it all together.
To sip, we went with fresh-pressed juices, and I can’t recommend them enough. Crisp, refreshing, and packed with flavor—they balanced the meal in a way that felt both decadent and energizing.
Between bites and sips, I kept glancing back at the shimmering water and skyline, realizing Miru has managed something special: it’s a restaurant where the view is a feast for the eyes, but the food makes sure it’s not the only reason you’ll come back.
If you’re looking for a spot that delivers on atmosphere and appetite, Miru is worth every bit of its hype. Just be prepared to spend as much time staring at your plate as you do out the window.
After breakfast, we couldn't help but sneak out to the rooftop and grab some fresh air and take in that beautiful view of the pier. Its a great picture spot offering both city and pier/water views.
That's just my CreativLEEway!
