Letās talk about The Bird. Because this place clearly decided to stay in its own lane⦠and that lane is chicken. Period. No beef. No fish. No distractions. Just poultry with purpose.
I ordered the Chicken Sandwich, because when you go to The Bird and donātĀ order chicken, thatās a personal issue. The sandwich was good, solid flavor, satisfying bite, even if it was cooked a tadĀ hard. Not burnt, just⦠enthusiastic. A little extra crunch never hurt anyone, right?
The vibe? Surprisingly cool. Picnic tables, an airy atrium, and a laid-back setup that says, āHang out, donāt rush.ā That said, on a cool San Francisco day, the open-air front window definitely lets the breeze fly free. Cute in theory, mildly brisk in reality. Dress accordingly unless you like your chicken served with goosebumps.
Ordering was refreshingly simple. The menu basically reads:
Chicken
Fried chicken
Chicken⦠but make it another way
And honestly? Respect. No overthinking, no fluff, just cluck and go.
The BirdĀ isnāt trying to be everything to everyone. It knows what it is, sticks the landing (mostly), and serves up a straightforward, no-frills chicken experience in a fun space. Would I go again? Yes. Would I bring a jacket next time? Also yes.
Sometimes you donāt need a long menu, just one good bird and a sense of humor. šš
