Delectable Delights

Downtown Shreveport just got a little taste of island sunshine, and I couldn’t resist stopping in at Ono’s Hawaiian Grill to see what all the buzz was about. From the moment I walked into the colorful, art-filled space inside Artspace, I knew this wasn’t going to be your run-of-the-mill lunch. Ono’s feels vibrant, airy, and just a little bit nostalgic even before you taste a single bite.

I started with the spam sushi dish, Musubi, a Hawaiian classic. It was simple, savory, and oddly comforting, like a throwback to childhood lunches but dressed up with a little island flair. From there, I moved on to the Trio, which felt like the best way to sample Ono’s range. Every bite offered something bold and different. Layers of flavor that made me slow down and actually pay attention to what I was eating.

And because nostalgia was clearly the theme of the day, I washed it all down with an ice-cold Dr. Pepper in a glass bottle. How’s that for a throwback? There’s just something about cracking open a glass bottle soda that takes you back. It felt perfectly in step with Ono’s mix of tradition and fun.

The food was filling, flavorful, and unique, but what really struck me was the vibe. Ono’s is one of those places where you want to linger, where the laughter of other tables mixes with the music and the clinking of glasses, and you realize you’re not just eating, you’re experiencing.

When I left, I couldn’t help but smile. Ono’s is more than just a restaurant—it’s a little slice of aloha in Shreveport, with a side of nostalgia.

And that's just my CreativLEEway!
